How does Sentinel Spectrum Chews for Dogs work?
Milbemycin oxime, one active ingredient in SENTINEL SPECTRUM, is a macrocyclic anthelmintic which is believed to act by interfering with invertebrate neurotransmission. Milbemycin oxime eliminates the tissue stage of heartworm larvae and the adult stage of hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), roundworm (Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina) and whipworm (Trichuris vulpis) infestations when administered orally according to the recommended dosage schedule.Lufenuron controls flea populations by preventing the development of flea eggs and does not kill adult fleas. Concurrent use of an adulticide product may be necessary for adequate control of adult fleas.

How is Sentinel Spectrum Chews for Dogs sold?
Sentinel Spectrum are sold in 6 month (6 chews) or 12 month (12 chews) supplies depending on your dogs weight as follows : 2-8 lbs (Orange), 8.1-25 lbs (Green), 25.1-50 lbs (Yellow), or 50.1-100 lbs (Blue)
What are the side effects of Sentinel Spectrum Chews for Dogs?
The following adverse reactions have been reported in dogs after giving SENTINEL Flavor Tabs: vomiting, depression/lethargy, pruritus, urticaria, diarrhea, anorexia, skin congestion, ataxia, convulsions, hypersalivation and weakness.
What special precautions are there?
The safety of the concurrent use of SENTINEL Flavor Tabs and CAPSTAR Tablets in pregnant or nursing dogs or in puppies less than 11 weeks of age has not been demonstrated.
If an animal with adult heartworm infection (and therefore circulating microfilariae) is given Sentinel Spectrum, a transient shock-like reaction can occur. To avoid this, dogs should be tested for adult heartworm and treated if necessary, before starting Sentinel Spectrum.

Store in a dry place at controlled room temperature, between 59° and 77°F (15-25°C).

SENTINEL SPECTRUM is different from SENTINEL FLAVOR TABS because it also treats tape worms in dogs.
Overview
To ensure adequate absorption, always administer SENTINEL SPECTRUM Chews to dogs immediately after or in conjunction with a normal meal.
SENTINEL SPECTRUM Chews control flea populations by breaking the flea lifecycle in both the egg and larval stages.
It is important to treat all dogs and cats in the household for fleas.
SENTINEL SPECTRUM Chews must be administered monthly for at least 6 months after exposure to mosquitos.
Precautions: Treatment with fewer than 6 monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitos may not provide complete heartworm prevention. The safety of SENTINEL SPECTRUM Chews has not been evaluated in dogs used for breeding or in lactating females.

Dosage
SENTINEL SPECTRUM should be administered according to the following schedule. Weigh your dog prior to administration to ensure proper dosage. Do not administer to dogs under 2 pounds.
97% of dogs will take the tasty chews straight from the hand. Otherwise, the dose can be added to a small meal or placed directly in the mouth, similar to tablet dosing.
