What are the side effects of Simparica Chewable Tablets for Dogs?
The most frequently reported adverse reactions were vomiting and diarrhea. Simparica may cause abnormal neurologic signs such as tremors, decreased conscious proprioception (awareness of body position and movement), ataxia (loss of full control of bodily movements), decreased or absent menace (blinking reflex), and/or seizures.
What special precautions are there?
Keep these tablets away from children and animals. *Simparica has not been evaluated for safe use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Simparica is for use in dogs only and is not for use in humans. Do not use Simparica in cats. Simparica should not be used in dogs less than 6 months of age weighing less than 2.8 lbs. *On September 20, 2018, the FDA warned that drugs in the isoxazoline class have the potential for causing neurologic adverse effects (eg, including muscle tremors, ataxia, seizures) in dogs and cats.

Store tablets at or below 86°F (30°C) with excursions permitted up to 104°F (40°C).
Overview
Administer one Simparica chewable tablet per month. You can give the tablets to your dog by hand or broken into pieces if they normally swallow treats whole.
Simparica chewables should be administered in a manner that encourages your dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing. Care should be taken to be sure that your dog consumes the complete dose.
Observe your dog for a few minutes after administration to ensure that no part of the dose is lost or rejected. If it is suspected that any of the dose has been lost, redosing is recommended.
