Why use Frontline Shield for Dogs?
FRONTLINE® Shield for Dogs provides one month of parasite protection. It works to kill flea eggs and larvae, adult fleas, chewing lice, stable flies, and ticks. It repels stable flies and mosquitoes, and it also repels ticks. It is effective against fleas and ticks at every stage of life. It aids in the control of sarcoptic mange, which is a sarcoptes mite infestation. This formula inhibits every stage of flea development to prevent re-infestation, and it also kills ticks at every stage of life. Preventing the transmission of diseases like Lyme disease (from ticks) and heartworm disease (from mosquitoes), this fast-acting product is effective and efficient.
How does Frontline Shield for Dogs work?
FRONTLINE® Shield for Dogs offers a trio of ingredients - permethrin, fipronil, and pyriproxyfen (an insect growth-regulating ingredient). Permethrin works by killing and repelling insects and acarines. Fipronil attacks the nervous system of the flea, which leads to hyperactivity and flea death. Pyriproxyfen inhibits flea development at every stage (egg, pupae, and larvae), which prevents re-infestation.

  1. With scissors, cut a single blister across the marked dotted line. Remove the applicator from the blister by peeling the foil off. You may also opt to fold a single blister at the corner line, then tear open at the perforated slit to remove the applicator.
  2. Use scissors to snip the applicator tip. Keep the applicator directed away from the face of any person or animal, including yourself, and do not allow the product to touch your dog's eyes or mouth.
  3. Gain visibility of the skin between your dog's shoulder blades by parting the hair. The skin at the application site should be visible. If you are treating a small dog, you should empty the entire applicator at one applications site. If you are treating a medium or large dog, split the dose as evenly as possible between three sites along the dog's back, parting the hair in the same way as before.
