Specifically, the hypochlorous acid (HOCl) that is generated through the oxidative burst process of neutrophils acts as a potent antimicrobial agent which attacks only single cell pathogens. As a strong oxidant, hypochlorous acid is known to react through a variety of pathways with biomolecules. The main route of attack against microorganisms is the disruption of the cellular membrane.

Overview
Move excess hair from wound area. Clip if necessary. Adjust spray nozzle. Apply Vetericyn VF (Veterinarian Formula) Plus Antimicrobial Wound & Skin Cleanser liberally on the wound to clean, treat infections and promote healing. If dressing is required, apply Vetericyn VF (Veterinarian Formula) Plus Antimicrobial Wound & Skin Cleanser liberally to dressing. Apply dressing to wound. Repeat as many times a day as necessary until wound is healed. No rinsing necessary. Skin may “pinken” after application due to increased blood flow to wound site which will help speed healing.
