How does Timolol Ophthalmic Solution work?
Timolol maleates a topical medication can be applied directly in the eye that effectively reduces internal pressure in the eye.Timolol is a non-selective beta blocker that reduces aqueous humor production by blocking beta-2 receptors in the ciliary body which results in a decrease in cyclic AMP production in humans. The reduction in aqueous humor production leads to a reduction intraocular pressure (IOP).

What are the side effects of Timolol Ophthalmic Solution?
Talk to your veterinarian if your pet has any; blurred vision or drooping eyelid; weakness, drowsiness; dry mouth; nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, upset stomach; skin rash; sleep problems; cough. Side effects other than those listed may also occur.
What special precautions are there?
The dropper opening is sterile, so don’t touch it to any surface, including eyes or hands. If it becomes contaminated, it may cause an infection in the eye.
Do not use in larger amounts or use it for longer than recommended by your veterinarian. Follow the instructions on the prescription label.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Helpful Tips:
Timolol ophthalmic may cause blurred vision. Do not use any other eye medication on your pet unless the veterinarian has to told you to do so. If your veterinarian tells you to use another eye drop, use it at least 10 minutes before or after using timolol ophthalmic. Do not use other eye drops at the same time.
