Tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg capsules are an alpha1 adrenoceptor antagonist indicated for treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Could potentially also be useful to facilitate passage of nephroliths and ureteroliths, and for treating functional urinary obstruction, or detrusor-urethral dyssynergia. What are the side effects of Tamsulosin Hydrochloride Capsule, 0.4 mg?
Side-effects such as temporary ejaculate volume reduction may result in temporary infertility in some dogs. Higher dosages could cause hypotension. Signs of toxicity may include excessive salivation, lethargy, redness of eyes, excessive lacrimation, tremors, ataxia, lethargy and vomiting. If any of these symptoms occur discontinue use and contact your Veterinarian.
What special precautions are there?
Keep away from children and animals. Contraindicated in animals known to be hypersensitive to tamsulosin hydrochloride. Do not crush sustained-release pellets in capsules as rapid oral absorption may result in hypotension.

Store at room temperature between 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F)
Overview
Use as directed by your Veterinarian.
Give on an empty stomach to increase bioavailability. Do not crush or allow animal to chew beads found inside capsule. May take up to 3 days for the drug to work at its peak effect.
