What are the side effects of Merial Equine Potomavac for Horses, 1 Dose (1 ml)?
In rare instances, administration of vaccines may cause lethargy, fever, and inflammatory or hypersensitivity types of reactions. Treatment may include antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, and/or epinephrine.
What special precautions are there?
Safety and efficacy of this product have been demonstrated in controlled vaccination challenge tests and in thorough field evaluations. Vaccinating animals whose immune response is compromised by stress, disease, etc. may not produce the desired results. After the primary vaccination and booster, annual revaccination is recommended. Speak with your vet about your horses vaccination schedule.

How can I store Merial Equine Potomavac for Horses, 1 Dose (1 ml)?
Store at 2-7°C (35-45°F). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Shake well before using.

Potomac horse fever (PHF) is a disease affecting horses and is best known for its gastrointestinal signs such as enteritis and diarrhea. This diseases is caused by E. risticii & Neorickettsia risticii, organisms that live inside several different cells of the equine body. This disease is also referred to as equine monocytic ehrlichiosis, or equine ehrlichial colitis.
Overview
DOSAGE: For primary vaccination, aseptically inject 1 mL (1 dose) intramuscularly into healthy horses 3 months of age or older. Revaccinate with a second 1 mL dose 3 to 4 weeks later. Revaccinate annually with a single 1 mL dose.
