What is Glycopyrrolate 2 mg Tablet?
Glycopyrrolate is used to reduce secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach before surgery. It is used before and during surgery to block certain reflexes and to protect against certain side effects of some medicines. It is also used along with other medicines to treat peptic ulcers. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your veterinarian.

Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic. It works by blocking the activity of a certain substance (acetylcholine) in the body, which decreases secretions and decreases side effects caused by medicines that may increase the action of acetylcholine in the body.

What are the side effects of Glycopyrrolate 2 mg Tablet?
Glycopyrrolate and its derivatives may enhance the actions of nitrofurantoin, thiazide diuretics, sympathomimetics. Glycopyrrolate and its derivatives may antagonize the actions of metoclopramide.
What special precautions are there?
With the exceptions of rare CNS adverse effects and being slightlyless arrhythmogenic, glycopyrrolate can be expected to have a similar adverse effect profile asatropine.
What to do if overdose?
Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room. Symptoms of overdose (thyrotoxicosis) may include increased thirst, urination and hunger, hyperactivity, personality change, and reduced heat tolerance.
How can I store Glycopyrrolate 2 mg Tablet?
Glycopyrrolate tablets should be stored in tight containers andboth the injection and tablets should be stored at room temperature (15-30°C).

It can be used for treating ulcers in the stomach and small intestine, in combination with other medications. In anesthesia, glycopyrrolate injection serves as a preoperative antimuscarinic operation that reduces salivary, tracheobronchial, and pharyngeal secretions. If animal is receiving glycopyrrolate tablets, allow animal free acess to water and encourage drinking if dry mouth is a problem.

The usual dose in dogs is 0.1mg/10 pounds of body weight. The usual dose in cats is 0.05-0.1mg per cat. The dose is maintained by periodic blood tests to determine the T4 level. Animals with hypothyroidism are usually treated with Levothyroxine for life.
