What are the side effects of Desmopressin Acetate Tablets?
Desmopressin can cause conjunctival irritation (inflammation) of the eyes after administration in some patients. Fluid retention can also occur following high doses of desmopressin. If you notice any fluid retention contact your veterinarian immediately.
What special precautions are there?
Keep away from children and animals. Desmopressin should not be used in animals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to the drug. Desmopressin may interact with other medications. Consult with your veterinarian to determine if other drugs your pet is receiving could interact with desmopressin. Such drugs include epinephrine, heparin,and fludrocortisone. Desmopressin acetate should not be used in animals that are prone to forming blood clots. This includes most animals with underlying heart disease. Desmopressin acetate has not been studied in pregnant dogs or cats.

Contact your nearest emergency animal hospital.
